What is Digital Grounding?

By , About.com Guide

Digital grounding is the term used to describe when a parent disciplines a child by taking away one or all digital privileges -- such as the use of a cell phone, the computer, the Wii or the Playstation.

Digital grounding is becoming a popular discipline tool for parents. Studies have indicated that more than 60 percent of parents have taken away a cellphone as a means of child punishment.

Other forms of digital grounding might include shutting down Facebook pages or limiting Internet access.
