Preteens - Parenting Today's Preteens

Tuesday July 7, 2009

Why is it that when your children become preteens it seems as though all the parenting skills you've learned so far no longer apply? Preteens can be difficult to live with, and parent, but despite their volatile moods, unpredictable behavior and other issues, they can still be just as lovable as they were when they were toddlers.

The secret to parenting preteens is learning a little bit about the pressures they face, the changes they're going through and their concerns and obsessions. It takes time to connect with preteens, but you can do it. And when you do, all those parenting skills you've acquired over the years will be useful to you again.
