By Jennifer O'Donnell, About.com

Many tweens have their own cell phones, but they don't always have the knowledge of cell phone etiquette to go with them. What bothers you the most about tweens and cell phones? Does your tween text her friends while she's talking to you? Or are you annoyed by the fact that your tween's cell phone seems to be permanently attached to your child's ear? No worry about limits

We don't worry that our kids will go over the limits because we gave them prepaid Tracfones. They can only use what we already paid for. Very handy! No bill surprises at the end of the month. And Tracfone is an excellent low-cost option for kids. It enables them to stay in touch but they cannot abuse it.

When They Go Over the Limits

Part of the responsibility that comes with having a cell phone is knowing when your minutes are up, so you don't get hit with heavy fees.
