I do have to think for a moment and decide if he will "need" his phone for an outing with friends or youth from church. If so, I need to think about what else would work as a discipline in that instance. The phone and/or Touch, and the Wii are the best forms of "currency" at our house!

Oh, Yes

Yes, I do take away my tween's cellphone as a form of discipline and I have found that it works. My child is less likely to act out if he knows that he won't be able to text his friends or use his phone. It's a great tactic, I think.
