Guide Review - A Daring Book for Girls - Review of The Double Daring Book for Girls

Does your daughter want to learn how to play the harmonica? Does she wonder what it would take to be elected President of the United States? Would she be interested in interpreting dreams, making a lava lamp, or knowing more about quilling? If so, The Double Daring Book for Girls is a must for her bookshelf.

For the book, the authors channeled generations of past tween girls for interesting project ideas, crafts, history lessons, and more. The result is the sequel to the very successful book, The Daring Book for Girls.

History lessons are sprinkled throughout the book and include information on the history of the Nobel Prize, the role of women in the computer age, famous women of history, and other must-know history that girls find interesting.

There's practical information included here, too. Tips on how to debate, how to say "hello," "good-bye" and "thank you" in various languages, how to paint a room, and how to run a magazine are also included.

But most of the book consists of projects and ideas to keep girls learning, entertained, and having fun. Craft projects include making antique paper, dream catchers, papier mache pinatas, and much more. Other projects explain how to throw and catch a football, catch fish, host a Japanese tea ceremony, start a Mother-Daughter book club, and build a raft.

The Double Daring Book for Girls is a great gift idea for any tween, and it's likely to keep girls entertained and interested for years. Take it out on rainy days, summer days, or on long road trips and your daughter is unlikely to complain of boredom. And don't make the mistake of thinking this book is only for tweens. Teens, young adults, and parents are likely to find it just as much fun and inspiring.
