I'm lucky, my youngest is pretty easy to buy for -- that makes Christmas and birthdays a cinch. She loves animals, the outdoors and games of any kind. I can finish her holiday shopping in just under 10 minutes.
My oldest is another story.
When your child has a passion or an interest, it can certainly make gift giving a lot easier. Think about your child's hobbies when it comes time to shop this year. And even if your tween gives you a detailed wish list, try to find something that's not on it.
Everybody loves a surprise -- especially a preteen.
