Preparing for Unexpected Storms

I gotta say, Hurricane Sandy took me by surprise. I never expected a storm this late in the season, and I was a little unprepared. How about you?

Of course, as a parent staying on top of things is a part of our job. We have to make sure the batteries are new, there's plenty of water, and of course, lots of munchies for those days when we're stuck indoors.

But we also have to plan for fun. How do you plan for indoor fun when your children are stuck inside, due to a Hurricane or snow storm? And how long can you keep your children busy before everyone gets on each other's nerves? What's your secret to making it through a storm together?
