Traveling with Tweens - Easier Than it Used to Be

Our family summer plans are still in flux, but I spent the good part of yesterday looking at beach houses online. I'm so glad my kids are older now and I can really bring them almost anywhere. In fact, I wouldn't rule out a long road trip, or even an overseas trip with them. So, so glad.

Tweens are pretty flexible travelers as long as you plan ahead. I always pack a small backpack and fill it with games, snacks, books and magazines -- to keep them busy while we're traveling. They add anything else they think will keep them amused until we're where we need to be.

What are your travel tips? Does your tween travel well? Aren't you glad you don't have to deal with diapers and feeding schedules while you travel anymore? I know I sure am.
