True story. About 34 years ago, I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I realized my future career while away at summer camp. I had signed up to take horseback riding, but an injury preventing me from riding. The camp director didn't know what to do with me at first, and then she decided to place me on the camp newspaper. My career had begun.
Now, my youngest attends summer camp, and with quite a lot of enthusiasm. I really don't know if she'll realize her future goals like I did, but one thing is for sure, when she comes home she's filled with enthusiasm for all she's learned, and she's excited about sharing her adventures with me and her dad.
Resident camp may not be the thing for every child. But there's a lot parent should consider when they're deciding whether or not to send Junior away for a week. Think about the pros, and the cons. And then know you made the right decision. Whatever you decided.
