On The Road with Tweens

Monday November 24, 2008

As families hit the roads these next few weeks to visit with friends and relatives, it's important to review certain safety guidelines with your tweens. While your children are no longer little kids, tweens are at risk on the roads, in fact, it's sad to report but traffic related accidents are the leading cause of death for tweens and teens.

In addition to making sure your children follow safety rules, be sure you provide plenty of activities for them to do while traveling. Pack a goodie bag with books, a scribble pad, and a few colored pencils. Don't forget to include a treat or two.

And, once you get to your destination, relax and enjoy. That's what the holidays are all about.
